Are you a Super Dad?
Super Dads

Are you a Super Dad?

In the eyes of our children dads can be like super heroes.  He may work 9-5; he may not be working at all, but children should believe that there is something special about their dads.

  • Does your child see you as their Super Hero?
  • If not, what could change your child's perception of you?
  • What makes you special in  your child's eyes?
  • Does your Partner/Wife see you as a Super Dad?
  • What could you do to be a super hero in your child's life?

Even if you are not yet a dad or you have been a dad for many years we would like to hear from you. Contact  us on: 07958 770 779 or email us on:

What do Men Really want Conference - Friday 17th October 2008!
WMW Conference 2008

Some of the conclusions of our conference were:

  • The perception of men need to be changed as to what constitutes a man (from birth to man).
  • Men need to realise the purpose of sex and that sex is not a game and it is not a method of proving that you are a man.
  • Men have been taught to lie from birth and so telling the truth become difficult when they mature.
  • Men need to know the benefits and the consequences of breaking their word and they need to believe those benefits and consequences are real.
  • Men will say anything to get what they want until they realise that there is a “real” consequence to their action.
  • Men do not think that having a child is not a bad thing, in fact it helps them prove that they are men and that everything works.
  • If a young man is in a “fraternity, group or gang” they will get to know the power of keeping their word and the “real” consequences of breaking their word (immediate punishment).
  • All broken promises (expectations) cause pain.
  • There is a “real” consequence of breaking a contract, promise or your marriage vows; the question is whether you can live with those consequences.
  • Men need to be aware that they can exclude themselves from their child/children life by their behaviour, not just towards their partner or their child but by the way they live their life and how the treat people.

Whether you are a biological father or not, YOU can make a positive contribution to the nurturing of children. The blessing of a father is so important. It can affect the future and destiny of a child.

Whether we recognise our fathers as good or bad role models we can still learn from them.

Whether they are their biological fathers, stepfathers, adopted fathers, or foster fathers, I am asking every man (and I am also encouraging women) to sign up and join our “Fathers for life”© campaign.

Once you become a father, you are a Father for Life!©

The BBC Report on our: "Fathers for Life" Campaign!

Simon Woolley, Dawn Butler & David Lammy

Children are for Life

A new campaign has been launched which is calling on all men to pledge to be a ‘Father for Life’. The ambitious crusade is being waged by Croydon based Mighty Men of Valour.

The launch which was held at the Houses of Parliament received strong support from key black political figures.  David Lammy, MP for Tottenham joined Dawn Butler the MP for Brent South and Operation Black Vote’s stalwart Simon Woolley to endorse the project.

“The way many of us in the community are failing to be there not just for our own [children] but for others - to set an example …. This work has got to begin and that’s what they're doing”, enthused Mr Lammy

Pastors support Fathers for Life Campaign!

Pastor Les Isaac of the Ascension Trust and founder of Street Pastors and Evangelist Andrew Dwyer of Light and Life Full Gospel Fellowship along with Baroness Verma of Leicester, David Lammy MP and Dawn Butler MP were a few of the many guests who spoke in support of Fathers of Life campaign held at the Houses of Parliament on Thursday 8th May 2008.

Pastor Les Isaac and Evangelist Andrew Dwyer who ministries are both based in Lambeth were part of the Mighty Men of Valour (MMV) campaign to confront the negative stereotypes of Black fathers as failing to take up their responsibilities for their children and challenge fathers to fully embrace their responsibilities and be ‘Fathers for Life’. Pictures enclosed!

Mighty Men of Valour's purpose is to challenge negative stereotype and perception of men in the United Kingdom.
Why?

It is amazing what causes men to.....

  • Cheat on their wives or partners!
  • Cheat on their partners and have unprotected sex!
  • Abuse their wives or partners!
  • Abuse their children; Abandon their children at birth!
  • Divorce their wives!
  • Abuse themselves through drink or drugs!
  • Be absent fathers; Be irresponsible adults!

MMV will also be exploring the reasons why men do these things and much more and to develop practical solutions to prevent, reduced or erradicate this behaviour.
