FATHERS FOR LIFE -CAMPAIGN

What is "Fathers For Life"?
Fathers for Life

MMV “Fathers for Life” Campaign call for both men and women to support MMV in our drive to publicly endorse and respond to the needs of fathers figures.

Fathers for life is for all potential fathers and men who may take on the role of a father such as a Stepfather, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Godfather, Foster father, or Mentor. We are encouraging women to acknowledge the importance of the role that fathers have in a child’s life and we are encouraging men to acknowledge that once they become a father they become “Fathers for life”.

The role of a father never ends, it only matures. This role includes resident and non-resident, biological and non-biological fathers.

When fathers are positively involved in their children lives from an early age:
A Father for Life
  • it is reflected in their later educational attainment and social development;
  • children are less likely to be in trouble with the police;
  • It fosters development of good parent-child relationships in adolescence;
  • it can provide a good foundation for developing satisfactory relationships in adult life;
  • it protects the child against the feeling of rejection;
  • it develops a balanced sense of moral and families values;
  • it can help the child to positively see how their parents related to each other and to develop strategies of their own to deal with relationships in mature/adult life.

MMV are working very closely with the NSPCC and with other community groups. We would like you to support our campaign. All we would like to you say is: YES - I am a Father for LIFE!

It was an excellent day!

Our "Fathers for Life" Campaign
Houses of Parliament 2008

Our "Fathers for Life" Campaign was launched at the Houses of Parliament on Thursday 8th May 2008.

The purpose of the conference was to invite key Government Agencies, faith groups and the media to support and promote the roles and responsibilities of a father and to encourage men to make a pledge to:

  • Honour the mother of his children!
  • Keep the promises that he makes to his children!
  • Be part of his child’s life for the whole of their life!

and

  • Love his child unconditionally.
There were presentations from Members of the House of Commons and the House of Lords, also from: The NSPCC, Father Agencies and Faith Groups!

Our aim is to encourage men to sign up to our Fathers for Life campaign which will offer support to fathers who are in crisis and also to acknowledge those fathers who are excellent fathers.

POSITIVE AIM: Frederick Clarke

A CAMPAIGN aimed at bashing negative stereotypes about black fathers was launched at the Houses of Parliament last week.

The Fathers for Life campaign urges black men to destroy stereotypes by showing they are responsible and loving dads, good partners and providers for their families, and productive citizens.
