MMV Pre-Fathers Day Parade - 23rd May 2009

As with David's and Gideon's Mighty Men of Valour we did as we said were going to do. We paraded from Trafalgar Square to N0:10 Downing Street and then to the House of Parliament were we prayed for the Nation, for the Government, the Social workers, parents, and fathers.

It was an excellent day!

Thank all of you who supported us. God bless you!

Children are for Life

A new campaign has been launched which is calling on all men to pledge to be a ‘Father for Life’. The ambitious crusade is being waged by Croydon based Mighty Men of Valour.

The launch which was held at the Houses of Parliament received strong support from key black political figures.  David Lammy, MP for Tottenham joined Dawn Butler the MP for Brent South and Operation Black Vote’s stalwart Simon Woolley to endorse the project.

“The way many of us in the community are failing to be there not just for our own [children] but for others - to set an example …. This work has got to begin and that’s what they're doing”, enthused Mr Lammy

Fathers For life Campaign 2008 - Thursday 8th May 2008

Our Fathers For Life campaign is on its way......
Fathers For Life!

Our "Fathers for Life" Campaign was launched at the Houses of Parliament on Thursday 8th May 2008.

The purpose of the conference was to invite key Government Agencies, faith groups and the media to support and promote the roles and responsibilities of a father and to encourage men to make a pledge to:

  • Honour the mother of his children!
  • Keep the promises that he makes to his children!
  • Be part of his child’s life for the whole of their life!
  • and
  • Love his child unconditionally.
There were presentations from Members of the House of Commons and the House of Lords, also from: Child Support Agencies and Educationalist!

Our aim is to encourage men to sign up to our Fathers for Life campaign which will offer support to fathers who are in crisis and also to acknowledge those fathers who are excellent fathers.

Our aim is encourage fathers, including BME fathers, to be actively involved in their child's life from birth and for young fathers to realise that this role is for life.  A child's father, along with their mother, are the most important role models in a child's life.

It's a mighty good idea

Almost weekly we hear of another young person losing their life in London. It’s this tragic situation, coupled with the growing level of young people getting involved in crime and drugs, which has spurred the faith community to take a stand.

Pronounce a blessing over your child in 2008!.
Fathers for Life!
Happy and Prosperous New Year  for 2008
Pronounce a blessing over your child in 2008!

As a young man I did not realise how important it was to have my father's blessing.

I am fortunate to have been blessed by both my natural father and my father in heaven.

Both blessing are important.  Christening and baptisms are important blessings before God. They could be considered as a rite of passage, a promise and commitment to God.

Those of you who are fathers I strongly urge you to pronounce a blessing over your children this year 2008. This in itself can be considered as a rite of passage, a promise and commitment to your child in the presence of God.

"Family life is in 'meltdown': Judge launches devastating attack on our fractured society"

"Family breakdown is a 'cancer' behind almost every evil affecting the country, says Mr Justice Coleridge, and he blames youth crime, child abuse, drug addiction and binge-drinking on the 'meltdown' of relations between parents and children ..."
